The COVID-19 virus pandemic seems to have spread much fear and anxiety across our state and nation whether founded or unfounded yet certainly unprecedented. Given these times where precedent and history should be our guide we instead need to lean on God first and science and history second to lead us. I pray that you and your family(s) are safe and sound and continue to trust in God and His divine care.
The science behind one aspect of this virus is that it is very contagious, whether in a symptomatic state or not. It is highly likely there are many individuals who have had this infection and are untested. It is also highly likely that the vast majority of us will at some point get this infection. The rapid spread of the virus is the problem and overwhelming the medical and supply systems is the biggest concern. We in this state need to slow this virus down. History suggests that quarantine or quarantine like processes and good hygiene practices do help to slow viral infections.
Consequently, we have had to make some temporary changes at Dvorak Eye Clinic:
Firstly, Dvorak Eye Clinic is still open for urgent and emergent care. Call our office number at
(320) 774-3666. We have Brenda responding to all phone calls and messages from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Don’t hesitate to leave a message, she will forward urgent and emergent calls or messages to me for a response.
Secondly, we will continue to see and examine patients as the Governor’s executive orders allow us. We anticipate that we will start seeing routine and yearly exams, cataract evaluations, and your continued care starting 13 April 2020. Please call for an appointment should it be time for your yearly exam or cataract evaluation.
Third, we take seriously your healthcare and have installed processes to prevent our clinic from acquiring or spreading this contagious virus. You will continue to be asked about travel and exposure to the virus as well as have your temp checked upon arrival. We continue to have patients spread out in our waiting area to achieve this newly minted phrase “social distancing”. I am very optimistic that locally things will start to return to normal soon.
May God protect us all and give guidance to our local, state, and national leaders during this unprecedented time in our nation. Dvorak Eye Clinic will continue to be available for your eye care and prescription needs through all of this.
Look forward to seeing you soon,
John A. Dvorak, M.D.
