Ophthalmic Assistant

Job Description

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to obtaining patient histories including chief complaints, past ocular/medical history, family medical/ocular history and history of allergies and medications, accurate documentation into EHR, perform ophthalmic testing including applanation, tonometry, pachymetry, photography, visual fields, OCT’s, lensometry and other tests as ordered by the provider, procedure set up, assisting in office procedures, instrument sterilization, calibration of diagnostic equipment per manufacturer guidelines, triage patient phone calls, and pharmacy prior authorizations.

Candidate will have excellent customer service with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently within a team environment is required. Previous ophthalmic assistant experience with certification as a COA is preferred. Some travel will be required.

Patient Services/Insurance Coordinator 

Job Type: Full-time

Job Description

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to answering incoming calls, appointment scheduling, insurance registration and verification, prior authorizations and referrals, and other administrative duties as assigned.Will be responsible as back-up patient coordinator as needed for all patient check-in processes.

Candidates will have excellent customer service with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Previous health care experience preferred with relevant training on insurance registration. Strong organizational skills are required with the ability to multi task and work independently in a team environment.
