Meet Dr. Dvorak

Growing up the youngest of 14 on a farm southwest of the Twin Cities, Dr. John A. Dvorak learned the value of hard work, family, and local healthcare. His work ethic was the driving force behind his motivation to complete medical school at the University of Minnesota as well as residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota—all while raising a large family of his own with his wife, Deborah.

Dr. Dvorak understands the needs of the patients he serves and the value of having healthcare right in your own community. His combination of cataract surgery skills, honed over the last 20 years, as well as a tireless work ethic and hours of teaching doctors and medical students, provides his patients with the most experience, talent, and unique skills few other Ophthalmologists can provide.  Whether that surgery is conventional cataract surgery, laser-assisted cataract surgery, LASIK, PRK, laser eye surgery, or any comprehensive ophthalmic surgery, his patients can get their surgery and follow-up care close to home with outcomes that are second to none.

Dr. Dvorak

Dr. Dvorak’s skills have been recognized by numerous organizations, including the American Board of Ophthalmology with board certification since 2001, Top Surgeon Award from Sightpath Medical in 2013 and 2014, and memberships with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Minnesota Academy of Ophthalmology, Minnesota Medical Association, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

In addition to his own clinic in Sauk Rapids, Dvorak Eye Clinic sees patients in Long Prairie and Benson. Dr. Dvorak is also on staff at CentraCare in Sauk Centre, and St. Cloud; Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood; Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris; Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar; and St. Cloud Surgical Center in St. Cloud.

Dr. Dvorak has many other interests outside of Ophthalmology, including composing music, hunting, fishing, and golfing. He resides on 40 acres in Sauk Rapids, MN, with his wife of 30 years and spends time with his 16 children and 11 grandchildren (soon to be 12!).

It is his work ethic, love of family, dedication to the profession of Ophthalmology, and skillful care that he brings to his patients in the community of Sauk Rapids and the St. Cloud area, as well as outreach communities throughout Central Minnesota.

Local surgery options, familiar faces, and expert care comprise the pillars on which he has built his reputation. You can trust Dr. John A Dvorak to provide you with Vision for Life!
